Easter Story Trail 2011

We’ve just finished a fantastic week at St Chads leading up to Holy Week. We’ve hosted the Easter Story trail from BibleEncounters. Peter and Julie Fraser have been with us all week telling the real story of Easter to our local school children, and also parents and general members of the congregation all week.

The Easter story is told in 4 different rooms, The upper room, The garden of Gethsemane, Golgotha and the Empty Tomb. It takes about 50 mins to go through the trail and Peter captivates people with his wonderful gift of storytelling and he draws people into the story. One of the Year 6 teachers wrote in the visitor’s book ‘A truly Jaw dropping experience’. Another Year 5 teacher said “I’ve never heard the children so quiet and captivated”.

All in all we’ve had about 600 children and 150 adults visit the trail this week and it has been absolutely fantastic. It has had a wonderful impact on our school communities, with some children ‘insisting’ mum and dad come and see it in the evening because ‘it’s so good’. One headteacher wrote to me and said “I have heard nothing but praise from staff and children regarding the Easter Trail.”

I would thoroughly recommend it to any church. It has made a significant impact on our community. If you are going to week 2 of Keswick this year look out for them at Crossthwaite church.

In the meantime have a look at the video below to get a flavour:
